Opened a pack of 2008 Topps...did OK I guess..

I took my kids to a card shop earlier tonight because my son wanted a couple of....(gulp) Pokemon cards. Yes, pokemon cards.....I need to teach him better! Anyway, I bought him a couple he wanted and 2 packs of Hannah Montata cards for my daughter. I decided to get myself a jumbo pack of 2008 Topps. I guess I did OK considering I buy very little newer packs anymore. Here is what I got................
Thanks,
Bob

Nice cards, but probably little re-sale value.

To get both A-Rods out of the set (as well as the gold card and Mantle card) in one jumbo pack is not a bad deal.

You would be surprised. The golds are going for decent money and the F*ukedome Japan cards are doing decent too!

    Olberman likes them!

*****The right fielder for the Cubs that made the all star game names is considered dirty I guess

Indeed, Topps has done the gold cards since 2001 (serial numbered to that year; xxxx/2008 in your case), they seem to be quite popular and of course very limited edition. But at the same time there's still enough to make building the sets at least a realistic goal.
