do miscut cards have any value

I am kind of new to collecting so don't laugh when I ask this question. I was opening a pack today and pulled out this vince carter card. The card appears to be horribly mis cut. Is this card worth anything or should it be put with the rest of my junk cards? Thanks

Maybe some collector who is into this stuff will pay a couple bucks for it but essentially, no, it really does not have any value. But what I do find interesting about the card is that there is a baseball player next to it. Interesting to see that basketball and baseball are being printed on the same sheets.

I agree ... no additional value.

The reason they're (basketball & baseball) printed on the same sheet is because this is an UD Superstars (Multi-Sport) Set.

Agreed, miscut cards like that are quite interesting, just don't expect to pay off your mortgage with it.

The reason that there is a baseball player is because the set celebrated the sports cities. They mainly picked players representing a few teams in each city, and I have a card with Rays and Bucs prospects on it. This is why there's the timeline at the bottom of the card.
  • Isn't there a member who collects a lot of miscuts? I can't remember who.

Metal Mike (when he is sober; which isn't often) I only come here when I am drumk as when sober I am too busy chasing tail. I collect those type errors but only pay a premium for pre 1974. ON the Bay a Carter or Toronto fan may bid. I think Mudflap likes these too. image

That would be mistruck coins. Now THOSE do command a nice premium (some more than others though) since quality control in making coins/currency is much tighter than sports cards.

That one is quite different as it's very unique and comes from a legendary set. In that case, I'd say the seller got robbed.
