Nadal beats Federer....epic battle

5 sets, tiebreaks, heartbreak. Perhaps the finest tennis match I've seen in a good long while.
Glad that Rafael Nadal finally beat Roger, he was due. What a marathon!

One of the best matches I have ever seen, too! I was rooting for Federer, but am happy for Nadal, too.

The best match I have ever seen, I think. I've been thinking trying to come up with a better one and none come to mind.

Props to Rafa. Glad he won, it's certainly going to spice up men's tennis for awhile! Don't forget Novak Djokovic, he's an outstanding player too.

Yeah. I heard McEnroe essentially saying that if this match couldn't grow interest in tennis -- that if it couldn't turn the casual watcher into a tennis fan -- then maybe nothing could.

Simply a ridiculous match. And just as I expected after the first four sets, the player who could first break serve in the final set would probably win. Rafa was only broken ONCE in the entire match -- five long sets.

It's a cliche, but in this case it really WAS a shame someone had to lose.

Best Wimbledon Match I ever saw -- and I saw the epic Borg/McEnroe and Connors/McEnroe matches.

Whenever I hear the phrase, "it's a shame someone has to lose", I usually don't agree because I almost always pick a side and root for that person or team. But in this case, I felt that way. It was sport at its finest.
