Slab Says BGS 8.5, Advertised As Bumped To BGS 9?!

Up for auction is a 1994 SP Alex Rodriguez BGS 8.5 which the seller states has been bumped to a BGS 9 as advertised by the "red sticker" on the back of the card. So if I read this correctly, if I win this auction, all I have to do is submit the card to BGS and they'll bump the 8.0 Corners to a 8.5 Corners; thereby raising the overall grade to BGS 9? Has anyone ever seen this before? Images are below.

Yes, they will do a graded card review at shows and put a new grade in like that if you want it sent in. They claim they can tell if the seal is broken. It's just so dumb of the seller (assuming he's NOT scamming) to not just send it in for the additional $3 and have it reslabbed with the appropriate grade. I've had GCR's done by them and most have not bumped. So I'm always a bit skeptical when I see one that DID bump but wasn't reslabbed.

The upper right and lower left corners look pretty 8ish to me.

Yes, I've seen this before but mostly on PSA cards that would cross to BGS holders and mainly on '86 Fleer Basketball.

I had three cards I was selling on consignment for a friend that were graded PSA 9's, reviewed by BGS.... then put into sleeves with the red tape seals just like the A-Rod shown above.

    Looks legit to me.

Also, I wouldn't call the seller lazy. Sometimes it's not worth sending in one card for the bump considering it would cost over $25 to get it slabbed in a new holder, with the two way shipping costs, insurance, and grading fees involved.
