Poll: Buying From Canadian Sellers ...

On buying cards from Canadian sellers, are you:

1) (All things being equal as compared to a U.S. seller), do it without hesitation;

2) Will do so only if, e.g. accepts Paypal, has good feedback, good history of selling similiar items, etc.;

3) Will not purchase from Canadian sellers; or

4) [Fill in blank] ...

Thanks much.

    2.....but that is usually true with US sellers. If you do not accept Pay Pal, I will likely pass unless it is a really good steal, or I really want it.

    I have bought a lot of cards from various Canadian sellers and have had no problems whatsoever. So for me, #1 applies.

    Selling to Canadian buyers is another story. Not that the buyers are any problem, it's just that it costs so darn much to mail things there. The only cards I make available to Canadian buyers are OPC FB cards, since no one in the U.S. seems to want to buy them.

  • I've never had any problems with buying and selling to/from Canadians.

    One thing that both parties have to be aware of, though, is that items take a long time to get from one country to the other because of customs. Normal for me on both the buying and selling sides has been 2-3 weeks.

    Don't really understand how someone's nationality plays any part in deciding where to buy from. I have had great dealings with Canadian sellers and been scammed by Canadian sellers. I could say the same for American sellers. When buying from sellers in Canada, I usually overnight whatever I buy if the dollar amount warrants it so that I can track the shipment.

  • I'm surprised it took a Canadian 1 hour and 45 minutes to be offended by this post - usually that happens a lot quicker.

    I have a question about selling to Canadian buyers. I went to USPS site and calculated posted on a typical bubble mailer with a slabbed card. It came out to about $1 more than domestic so I passed the cost to the buyer. When I got to the PO, the package came out to be $1 less than domestic, even with the Evidence of something (the PO guy couldn't explain why). The package got there within 5 days and I ended up refunding the buyer the shipping since it was so cheap. I still don't know what happened.

    The only time shipping to Canada becomes exorbitant is when you need tracking.

    Regular first class mail is only a tad higher then if something was sent within the states.

    As for buying from north of the border, I have no problem with that.

    Good for you.

    I agree. I have bought from several Canadians. Not anymore problems than I had with US sellers.

    Have bought and won many high grade Mantles from Canadian sellers over the past 5 years or so and have never had a problem.

    Some with Paypal and some by US Postal Money Order.
  • For some reason, they always make me solve the simple math problem, 2+3=? before selling to me. And oh, good thing I don't live in the former Louisiana purchase territory, or they won't sell at all. Very strange people these Canadians.

    1) I buy from Canadian sellers all the time. Everything goes fine, however I do allow a bit more time on shipping. It takes a little bit longer from Canada.
