Fantasy advice

Now that I lost Capps to an extended trip to the DL, I need a
closer. In my league, the best available appear to be Saloman
Torres and Brandon Morrow. Who would you take, and why?

Don't take Papelbon since the crappy bullpen can't even get him the ball!

torres he has been perfect since being put in the closer role and his only real competition is gagne.

Also, Fuentes is a FA. So, which one of the three?

Morrow has been good for me, Putz if he comes back they have already said it would be as a set up guy.
Currently completing the following registry sets: Cardinal HOF's, 1961 Pittsburgh Pirates Team, 1972 Pittsburgh Pirates Team, 1980 Pittsburgh Pirates Team, Bill Mazeroski Master & Basic Sets, Roberto Clemente Master & Basic Sets, Willie Stargell Master & Basic Sets and Terry Bradshaw Basic Set
  • You MUST be in an 8 team league???
I play in an 11 team league and those guys wouldn't last 5 seconds, grab em both, although Morrow is sick, he is insanely good (better than Putz IMO). Gagne has no confidence, I think he's done, so Torres should close all year, although he's had many one hit, one walk 9th innings (that he escapes from though).
I had Capps as well so I went and signed both Marte and Sanchez last night, hoping one of them sticks as closer.
Good luck, but if you can fit them both, grab them both!

Wheeler in TB is another option with Percival being on the DL again. Otherwise, Morrow would be the pick over Torres.

how many games can the M's possibly win once they trade everybody??

i like Torres because i think the brewers will win more then the other guys, in turn giving him more opportunties

Morrow has better stuff and better stats, but Torres may get you more saves. Tough call. I'd have to think that Putz will get a shot to reclaim his role when he returns in a few weeks, so Torres is the safer choice, as I can't see Gagne coming back to be closer with Torres in place..

  • Of course as we post all of this tonight Torres blows his first save (and he got hammered).
Morrow is crazy good, but again, Putz could push him. Torres could probably blow his next 3 saves and still have the job. Good luck with your choice.

    At this time, I am considering in order: 1 - Fuentes, 2 - Morrow, 3 - Torres.
