Would you buy from a seller with 500+ feedback that started listing high-dollar cards?

I came across some auctions for high-grade vintage football. They are all from the same seller. The seller mostly sold raw under $100. The top card over the past 90 days is a 1960 Kemp PSA 8.
Then he starts with a run of high dollar cards, most between $250-$500. These are all high grade cards and he lists them below book. My biggest concern is that I can see the edges of the card. Plus he is from Chatsworth. Nothing against anyone from Chatsworth, but it does concern me.
If anyone has dealt with this guy, PLMK.
Would you buy this?

I'd use a CC though.

No real signs, if any, to doubt his integrity as a seller.
$1000 is way off though for the 55 AA Feathers card ....
VCP average for last 5 sold @ PSA 8 is $234.10
as long as you pay with PPviaCC, I see no real risk.
Since these cards may be consigned, I would be mindful
that shilling is always a possibility. I would snipe ONLY.
<< <i>$500 is not high dollar to many. >>
Heh, I guess I get to be counted among the few.
It'd be interesting to see a graph of card collectors based on annual income.

Ya, count me in too. It amazes me how many people act like dropping $500 on an item to an complete stranger is nothing... more power to them.
5 bills is a lot to me... but as long as you use a CC, you should be fine. Just don't think about how long it takes to get your $$ back if you run into trouble.
ALWAYS Looking for Chris Sabo cards!
As far as the value of his listings is concerned, I do not see why you have any concern. We are only talking about 10-15 items that are higher than what he has sold in the last 90 days. We have no idea if he has sold higher end items before that, because Ebay does not let you see that far. I buy from lots of sellers with cards that are in that price range, that have worse feedback than this guy.
I have no clue what you mean about the Chatsworth location. Is it a prison or something?

The Feather is actually the 1935 Chicle Card, not the AA Set.
How does the $1000 compare to VCP. In Beckett GCI, it's $1200.
The biggest thing that bothers me is the not being able to see the edges. Even though I would eventually get my money back, it is a pain.
Chatsworth is a city in the Valley where a lot of the adult films are made. I'm sure there are a lot of nice people that live there, but it seems like you always hear of a scammer from Chatsworth.
VCP: Last 5 Sales Average Price: $854.72 for the Chicles Feathers card in PSA 8.
The seller has a rock solid feedback history, and 5.0, 5.0, 4.9, 4.9 for his star ratings. If you feel this feedback history and star rating seem shaky, then maybe buying on eBay isn't really for you.
<< <i>The top card over the past 90 days is a 1960 Kemp PSA 8. >>
Incorrect. He sold a 1948 Leaf Sammy Baugh PSA 5 for $224.72 on May 6th. It was 3 feedbacks above the Kemp card you mentioned, and pretty hard to miss. Are you sure you know how to use eBay?
<< <i>.....The biggest thing that bothers me is the not being able to see the edges..... >>
Please tell me which seller has an auction where you can see the edges.
Also, the seller you're worried about has received 650 feedbacks, and has never received a negative.
<< <i> Plus he is from Chatsworth. Nothing against anyone from Chatsworth, but it does concern me. >>
WTF? Seriously, I'm from Granada Hills and Chatsworth has some very upper end neighborhoods, plus my 89 year old Grandfather lives there. I was taking your post seriously until I read that comment, now I don't know where you are coming from??
This is the reason why I am nervous. A seller has decent feedback and then starts selling high end cards.
As for the Chatsworth comment, I apologize if I offended anybody. Granada Hills is a nice area and Chatsworth has nice areas as well.
What about my question that asked - Please tell me which seller has an auction where you can see the edges.
eBay is really not for you.
Thanks for your input.
<< <i>nam812 - Since I an one of the four that got burned by this guy, I am a little nervous about doing it again.

But it's not the same guy. You can see that on your computer monitor, can't you?
Edited to add: Please tell me which seller has an auction where you can see the edges.
The seller with Beattie cuts off the edges of the holder so I can't see if they are frosted.
Again thanks for your input, but I will move on.

It's all good, I was just being a jack_ss.
