Attention Heritage fans; my wife has now joined your ranks (bought herself a 2008 Heritage wax box;

Although I myself do not collect Heritage (don't get me wrong, I think it's quite an interesting product but the cost to get all caught up in all the sets would be better spent building "real" vintage sets from the early 70s, IMO), but you will not believe that my wife just bought herself a 2008 Topps Hertiage wax box! The reason being is that she wanted to bust open a wax box because she thinks its fun to do so (and apparently several here would agree) and I suggested she go with Heritage because it's so popular here and it's such an interesting product.

And who knows? If she likes what she sees in this wax box, maybe she'll go for other years and perhaps try to build a nice collection in her own right. That being said, what are some of the best inserts she might pull? Of course, you guys will be the first to know if she does!

Wish her luck!

UPDATE: The box arrived ruined due to a piss poor shipping job by the Ebay seller jackleeann. We are currently in the process of sending it back for a refund (and hopefully we'll have better luck with a more thoughtful, professional seller).

    Your user name in Hebrew means "one with long hair". Pretty strange you didn't know that but picked it anyway.

    Try some slow release fertilizer. She will have to sit still for at least 3 hours per day to let it soak in but it should work out prety good.

    Too bad I don't really know which ones are the "sweet autographs or something" (I collect primarly 70s/80s/90s, remember?). image

    As for the guy who asked about my user name, it's my real first name. I was named after my late grandpa Estil (he died of a heart attack in 1969 before I was born) who was a WWII Purple Heart vet in the Army. Still, I wish I had a name more like Bill or George or something because I do get tired of my name being constantly misspelled/mispronounced (it's pronounced S-tul). image

    Well, the box arrived today and unfortunately, the seller jackleeann apparently thought throwing the box in a cardboard envelope (the flat rate USPS one; I HATE those flat rate boxes/envelopes because it invites poor shipping jobs) wrapped in a THIN piece of bubble wrap would get the job done. Needless to say, the box arrived with one of the bottom corners smashed and one of the top edges bent funny as well. Obviously we did not open the box and we just contacted the seller to demand a refund. My wife was quite disappointed to be sure. Doing a piss poor shipping job is not the way to introduce someone to the hobby!!image

    That's a shame man! I would go with blowoutcards.com or dacardworld.com next, just to be sure. How much did you pay for the box on ebay?
  • EstilEstil Posts: 7,231 ✭✭✭✭✭
    I think the typical going rate (don't remember exactly) for those wax boxes ($70-$80ish). We have to send the box back Monday. Again, my wife is quite disappointed and I even helped pick out the box and the seller; some help I was, huh? image
