    I don't think it's any secret that most of the prices from Anaconda were hillariously & outrageously high. What baffeled me was that people actually paid their prices. A dealer is free to ask what ever they please which is why I never got on their case for pricing so high. If anyone is to blame it's the collectors that were willing to pay 2-5x prices just because it was colorful and came from Anaconda. The guys at Anaconda were cool, from a personal perspective, but I'd never buy one of their coins from inventory if it were priced the way nearly all of them were.

    That business model is nothing new in this hobby. It comes down to buyers knowing what something is worth. And paying big premiums for varying degrees of color is always a tough call.

    To be fair to Anaconda, they encouraged offers and, as I understand it, often accepted less than the asking price.

    When going over the box of Half Dollars I marked several I liked, almost all were Anaconda coin which I realized after.

    i like that 1819 half, i think you did well there.
    the 1838, i'm not too thrilled with, looked cleaned and retoned around the edge to me. but... any bust coin is cool, so if it were within arms reach, i'd be happy to look at it

    Just talked to a prominent dealer who bought a handful of nice pieces. Not sure what the original prices were but the prices he paid were inline with market pricing so most likely much less than original pricing.

    BTW, those are some nice coins you picked up.
