  • For those that did not receive a PM from me, Steve is having some issues figuring who's user name goes with their real names and what they are paying for. For those who have not paid yet, please do so as soon as possible and include your CU user name and what you are paying for in the Paypal message box.
  • Sent payment for 2 packs of 1979 Baseball.

  • Is it too early to point out the NPB's?
  • Start pointing.. LOL

I think these need to be paid for within 24 hours for the most part Steve is doing us a favor on these no sense in ruining that by some not paying.

i agree they should be paid for or arrangements should be made asap when everything is sold. i enjoy these box breaks and would like to continue getting the opportunity, so we should try to pay asap.

Steve is great, and these rips are a lot of fun... I would hate to see this end because of people not paying up!

The one that I ran a few weeks ago there were a few packs that were never paid for. Some other board members did step up but I think 1 pack of 80/81 basketball went unsold image

I got a message from Steve on Tuesday saying "sent today!"; so my guess is Saturday at the earliest. Are we ripping on the same day or is it a free for all?
  • Would be much more fun if we ripped on the same day. However, we were supposed to last time but I got mine early and could not contain myself.
  • to the moon.......
  • Have any of the 3 that show not to have paid paid yet? If not I think we need to sell their packs and remove them from any future rips.
  • Any that are Not paid at this time, I will take all available this time.
  • Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong but these are the 2 that I do not show as paid: 74Toppscollector and TheVon.

  • Thats all I see now at least according to y our list.
  • IMO all packs should be paid within 24hrs.

Leathers --- I hate you!!!! I'm down in Springfield and didn't get mine today!
Ok, that was a little harsh. Sorry! I'm betting all the centered stars are in the other pack that you didn't open!!
  • I hope the PSA 10's of Ozzie and Jordan are in the other 2 packs.

Here are the 4 most noteable cards out of the 3 packs that I bought. The Darrell Green has some sort of "Purple Haze" that must have bled onto the card. For the most part there were some really nice commons that came from the packs as well.

  • I was the first to pay and so far nothing. We will probaly get them Saturday.

  • << <i>I was the first to pay and so far nothing. We will probaly get them Saturday. >>

My BBCE orders have always been received in three days from payment. If you get yours Saturday and I don't, I am coming over to your house and help you rip.
  • Its always been about 3 days for me too. I figure since mail from here to Shreveport is next day usually we will both be getting them the same day. I think both cities mail comes from Dallas.

That said I may be in Shreveport at the Track Saturday.
  • I will be too, 3rd floor box. Picking up my tickets tomorrow, will PM you my seat number and come introduce yourself.
  • Cool, will do that if I get there Saturday, looks like I should be able to make it.

    Adam,

The "Purple Haze" you are referring to is not a stain or bleed. It is on all 1984 Topps Darrell Green cards. Nice pulls by the way.

Nice Marino should grade out no lower than an 8. (I looks like the bottom might be a little rough)

High grade 1979 baseball cards are very undervalued, IMO. This issue is one of the absolute toughest to find in mint to gem mint condition, as most cards suffer from poor centering and the lousy card stock Topps used that year doesn't help matters, either.

Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
  • Someone please answer the question if UPS is running today. I am not at home but may have to go home and sit at the front door waiting for Big Brown.

    thats all I know

LOL, not doubting you oakesy, I swear.

Never thought about UPS running today, perhaps I should hang out at the house a while longer myself.

edited to add: I recently moved and decided to get a PO box. I started wondering after your post if perhaps mail was put in those today but carriers didn't run, so was curious if I needed to go there. But as I said, UPS never crossed my mind, even though I know that BBCE sends that way. Not thinking clearly today.
  • I wanted to be the last to open anyway since no one is going to get the PSA 10 Ozzie before me.

didnt mean to come off defensive.. just had my caps lock on...

it is possible it sat on the ground all night an my wife missed it when she brought the mail in yesterday...
but she just went out to the store and came back in and told me I had a package..

    whatever that is worth
