1967 Planet of the Apes Test Set????????

Good day,
I pride myself on having at least a passing knowledge of most of what has happend in Non Sports in the last 50 years but this one has me mystified. Please take a look at auction # 330248178441.
I have dealt with this lady on numerous ocasions and her auctions and product are %100 legit and she never knowingly misrepresents anything. That being said, who knows what she was told? Does this sound legit to you all...Steve...Mark...Anybody ???
let me know. If it is legit, it is just the off the wall one of kind I have to have!!!
Please weigh in!!
Thanks
Neil

I'm afraid i have no idea about this .
I cannot see why it isn't legit , seems to be all above board .
There was a recent thread on a card forum concerning ' test ' sets . I'll post a question on there , hope someone comes up with an answer for you .

You know it seems now that I've seen those before somewhere...!! Anyway I asked her and the Reserve is $7500 way more than I would ever consider, Way, Way More !!!!!!
Prediction it doesn't sell and ends up $900-$1200.

These are really odd. At first I thought they were proof cards, which GAI grades a lot of. But having the "finished" backs on them.
I really don't believe these were ever produced, even as a test market run. Not having boarders is a production nightmare when it comes to cutting the sheets. Cards have boarders (no matter what color they might be) so that you don’t have to be 100% exact. Note all those off centered cards out there – a result of sloppy cutting. With a full bleed image (no boarder) you have to cut exactly between the two cards – no margin for error. That’s my basis for thinking these are not normal production, or test cards, but rather just some sort of proof card that escaped from Topps. But who knows. They do look cool, but $7,500 seems steep.
Did you ask where she got them from? Might lead to some answers.

7.5 K? god bless her.

Bid up higher than I ever thought it would go, at $3500. If the Reserve isn't met ($7500.) will we be able to see who the high bidder is or does he/she remain hidden because they didn't meet Reserve?
Neil
Hi Neil ,
The id of the highest bidder will remain hidden in the event of a no sale .

Ended at $4100 US Dollars, didn't meet Reserve but I imagine equals about 3 pounds Sterling, Great Britain??? Am I close? About $3500 US more than I ever thought it ever would go to. Oh well, I sent her an offer of $500 US, don't imagine that will get me anywhere.

Hello to All ,
Hi Neil ,
At least you tried , depends on how much the seller forked out for this unique , but rather hacked to bits set .
After all , the worst the seller can say is No . I bet you can live with that .

The original set issued in in 1969 has only 44 cards and have green backs with text. No puzzle.
The test set is the same as the 1969 set but has black boarders on the front.
