2008 A&G or something vintage...

Here's my problem. We received some random cash from a family member. We have used a lot of it to pay bills and put some back. We went out to a restaurant we could never afford and have enjoyed a weekend away. Now, here's the problem. Allen and Ginter is about to come out. Last year was amazing to say the least. I had some of the best finds I've ever had. BUT, I'm in crisis. I've limited myself to a budget with this extra cash. My question is, should I buy some new A&G to rip in the hopes I score big again this time or take the money and invest in vintage that rarely goes down in price? What do you think?

Well, I'd say go for the A&G if we're talking less than $500. You'll enjoy the A&G a lot more because of the great trades that are made during the A&G season. If we're talking more than that, I'd put your money toward something with a fairly strong promise to break even.

I say buy some Vintage! You will end up getting some A&G anyways Im sure- maybe not as much if you spent this money on it but at least you will get a taste so why not go after something you might not have had the chance to get had you not come into this money?

    Either way have fun chosing!

Guru it depends. The fun of buying boxes is hard to beat, but on the other hand you can wait till later and buy the set for the price of 2 boxes. I have a set from the last 2 years I am looking to sell as I cannot afford to spend the money on a bunch of boxes. Mike
