Will Lou Pinella make the Hall of Fame as a Manager?

I think so. Manager of the 1990 Reds who upset the Oakland A's in the World Series. His 2001 Seattle Mariners broke the American League record by winning 116 games. I think if he brings the Cubs to the Promised Land the first time since 1903 Sweet Lou will get voted in.

"The answer was in the Patriots eyes. Gone were the swagger and c0ck sure smirks, replaced by downcast eyes and heads in hands. For his poise and leadership Eli Manning was named the game's MVP. The 2007 Giants were never perfect nor meant to be. They were fighters, scrappers....now they could be called something else, World Champions."

Probably so if he does indeed take the Cubs all the way. Sure he did win that 1990 championship, but I'm not sure three AL Runner-Up finishes after that (especially after squandering that 116 win season in 2001) gets him in the HOF.

He makes it in my book. He could stand to toss a few more bases, kick some dirt on a few more umps, and look obvioulsy peed off at a few more of his pitchers from the dugout imo.

I think him jumping from team to team to team also hurts his chances. Yankees, Devil Rays, Reds, Mariners, Cubs...I'm probably missing one or two. He needs a solid identity. Hopefully for his sake he can achieve that with the Cubs.

He kinda lucked into winning his only ring in '90. The Reds were heavy underdogs that somehow managed to sweep the mighty A's who had superstars like Canseco, McGwire, Stewart and the MVP from that year Rickey Henderson. 1990 was the third consecutive year the Tony LaRussa led A's made the series, but they somehow fell apart and Pinella & the Reds were in the right place at the right time.

Hall Of Fame? We'll see, I think the jury is still out.

At first glance at this thread, I said no frickin way Piniella is a HOFer...but then I did some research....after looking at this list, he might be a shoo-in, regardless if he wins a World Series with the Cubs....there are less famous managers below him that are in the Hall.
