Question For Sellers Of Raw Cards ...

To Sellers of Raw Cards,
Would you ever guarantee a card not to be unaltered, trimmed, etc.? In other words, if a buyer purchased a raw card from you, submitted it, and it came back with evidence of trimming, altering, etc., would you refund their money on request (less grading fees, of course)?
I understand not guaranteeing a particular grade. (The buyer or seller might miss something that the grader sees.) But how about guaranteeing that the card will come back with a grade.
I'm guessing most people would say heck no, but I'm curious.

I think you'll find just the opposite. Most sellers (at least on these boards) would guarantee that their raw cards would be original/unaltered and would grade. I know I do.
The "evidence of trimming" is just a way for PSA to get you to resubmit a card. All too often a card comes back a 2nd time with a grade. It is an opinion and way too subjective. If a buyer wants a card that's guaranteed to be unaltered, untrimmed, etc., they need to buy a card already in a PSA holder. Simple.
In other words, if a seller was to "guarantee" the card to be unaltered, he would be issuing a guarantee that PSA gets paid to give - but the seller does so at a discount. Not good business.
BTW, I buy a lot of raw cards and have gotten one now and then that are trimmed. Big deal. That's a risk I take and pay a lower price for.
while it was in the buyers hands.

100% guaranteed a card will grade with a number grade (SGC or PSA only). Usually for a reasonable time frame (ie 3-4 months).
The only time I wouldnt guarantee a number grade is for a handcut strip card, or if I already disclosed the card is altered when they bought it. But I would still usually refund if the buyer is not satisfied for any reason.
Good clear scans before the purchase are the key.
that PSA would find them "authentic and unaltered."
Trying to "guarantee" a certain numerical grade would be gambling.
