If a card's picture is on a white background...

I thought I remembered reading something about if a card is pictured on a white background
then the seller is trying to hide something. Could someone refresh my memory or let me know
if I'm crazy. Thanks.

Could just mean they are lazy. All scanners that I can think of have white backgrounds. It takes a person who appreciates condition to post with dark background. At least they didn't crop the edges and corners to give the impression of "mintyness."

  • Not always true but I never buy any raw that I can not clearly see the edges and corners. If you asking because you want to scan yourown cards, then just leave the top open on the scanner. I do it with my scanner and it makes the background solid black.

I also hate when they crop the scan so close to the edge of the card it seems to have perfect corners. I avoid both types of aellers.

I use a piece of blue construction paper that my wife laminated. It works out very nice. Naturally, if I have a blue bordered card to sell, I use a white background.
