can someone explain why I can't use my CC on paypal?

I have been buying a little the last week and I don't have enough in my paypal balance to pay for the entire payment.

when i checkout it says take xx from paypal balance
xx from bank account

I hit more funding options like i have 20 other times and it gives me 3 choices.
paypal plus credit card
bank account
e-check

No drop down menu's anywhere for me to select one of the credit cards I have on file. They only have them available as a back up source in case one of the other payments are rejected.

Please help.

I'm not sure if this will help, but in the past I've cleared my balance prior to using credit card for payment. If I don't clear the money out and move it to my bank acct then that balance goes toward the payment. I'm sure others will chime in here soon too.

Yes, clear out your balance first. I also have seen it where if one seller wont accept cc, that you cant do multiple pay with cc, so you have to deselect a few to find out which is the culprit.

I have done this, about 6 months ago, but I seem to remember having to pay each seller individually.


**EDIT: FWIW, You do not need to clear your balance out. I paid a seller w CC last month with $800+ in my paypal acct. I tend to agree that it could be a seller not accepting a CC**

This just happened to me this week. I had to use my bank acount to transfer funds from. It took 4 days for paypal to clear my purchase once payment was sent. It was very annoying

The current scheme kicked in right after the holidays.

It brought havoc to MANY folks' bank accounts. Thousands
of people found their "sweep accounts" closed by their bank
because PP continually tried to withdraw "pre-approved
payments" from empty accounts. These people had been
using their credit-cards to make such payments for YEARS
and did not get notice of the "changes." Lawsuits are on
the way.

PayPal saves/make millions by "forcing" users NOT to use
credit cards.

Before EBAY bought the gangsters, PP was built on payments to offshore gambling

with "preserving a family atmosphere." It springs from the insistence of the IRS and
other government agencies that ALL of PayPal's records would be subject to continuous
scrutiny if PP was used to clear "porn payments."

PayPal made its bones on CRIMINALS, NOT on EBAY commerce.

Recently I read paypal has a promotion in that they give you a % off, if you sign up and pay with non credit card
You didn't sign up for this?

by the way i got the same crap right now tryng to do multiple payments at once, so now i will do them one at a time since my balance was not enough
