Knocked off a Monster for my 1969 FB Set

rexvosrexvos Posts: 3,274 ✭✭✭✭✭
Just got back in from a small road trip for work. I had this and a few other cards waiting on me.

1969 Topps John Hadl PSA 8

image

While it is not the best looking 8. It is nearly impossible to find this card above a 7. I am just glad to have it taken care of in my quest to complete the set. Most people just missing 1 or 2 cards in this registry need this one.

Ugly 8, but congrats anyway. image

When I"m down to 1 or 2 cards needed to complete a set I'm guilty of picking up dogs as well.

Can always upgrade later on ... image

actually it is the perfect situation to buy a number. Not a star card. Not a high end rookie. The only two I have seen on eBay in the past 2 years have sold for over $200, this one did not cost me near that. It is a common that is weighted at 1 and impossible to find. I am very happy with my purchase, and the deal I got.

Is this card the correct size? Look's a little short in the holder.

yeah, probably the effect of being off center top to bottom. it matches the size of the rest of the set.

Nice, Mike. It's cool that you're scanning them all, too.

    just wish I had a better/newer scanner.

I am obsessive/compulsive. I have a ritual when they come in that I do every time which includes scanning and posting in the registry.

Have about 9 or 10 more incoming, hopefully will get them all in on Monday.

Great set and a nice pickup. I certainly respect all set collectors. I don't have the patience for it.image

I just made a minor splash with my 69 set.
Got some commons back that they were pretty tough on to say the least.

Got mostly 9's on the stars that I own though. Mint cards from this set (especially the first series) are the best looking mint cards on the planet! The Maynard glistens like a mirror!

Pretty impressive with those big and high $$ 9s !!!

I have 4 PSA 8's available if you aren't holding out for 9s.

    #67 Taylor, #30 Banaszak, #248 Hanburger and#243 Hunt - would take $15 each.

    Good luck

I still need 2 to finish this set. Bobby Walden and Bob Brown. Got outbid on a Brown last week, have not seen a Walden in awhile,

    Mike,

Not sure what you are looking to spend for a Brown, but I have an 8 that I have been holding for someone.
I can check to see if they still want it. The price we had agreed on was $140. LMK if interested.
