I don't know but i thought i recognized that Aaron rookie he has for sell...found it on vcp sold to jljggroup for $1600 now he's selling 3mos later for $2200.
1600 is cheap for the aaron , he got a good deal. buy low , sell high, nothing wrong with that. alot of things slip through ebay these days as I think many have narrowed there searches to focus on specific things instead of buying things they weren't really looking for when the economy was better. if the aaron was in a psa holder , he would easily get 2000 plus for it.

I agree 100%. Many people have both buying and selling accounts for exactly that reason. Nothing wrong with turning a profit. More power to you if you can do it.
Wow, that's a nice price difference but the pop report shows only 4 PSA 10's so that makes sense. I would still think there could be some 10's out there with all of the unopened 86 cards still around or is it very unlikely? IF the PSA had a 9.5 many of us would be sending in many PSA 9 cards for some bumpage. I guess they would get swamped. lol

Yeah, this is something I've thought about alot. The difference in value between 9s and 10s is HUGE on the older cards. I was just noticing a 1981 Topps Ryan PSA 10 that went for about $750 last night. I sold a PSA 9 a few weeks ago for $15.
That rip I did last night though makes me wonder about how many 10s are even possible in some of the early 90s sets. Sure there is lots of product out there, but most stuff from the late 80s and early 90s suffers from bad centering issues. There are some pop report anamolies out here as well. Found some the ratio if 9s to 10 is nearly 100 to one. Then there are some the 10s outnumber 9s.
<< <i>That Ryan appears to be nicer than the first 10. Its back was off center pretty badly. There was alot of debate on it it should even have been a 10. >>
You got that right. The current one up for sale looks alot better.
With that said, I don't think the current one up for sale looks "Gem Mint" either. Too much white on those edges for my taste..
I just looked at 7 ungraded 1986 Ryans last night that I have had in a plastic book sleeve for 20 years. 2 of them have a chance at being a 9 or 10. I might just have to send them in to see if a 1.00 card could sell for 1000.00. That is quite a mark up.

I had those exact thoughts when I first heard about that card being super tough. I knew I had about 20-30 of those, and I knew they were all straight from packs into storage. So I pulled them out, and they were horrible. The ones that had no chipped edges or horrible corners were way OC. I ended up sending in just one, and it came back an 8. That truly is a tough one. I'm thinking the only way that card has a chance at 10 is out of a factory set? maybe a rack?
I busted a few racks last time I ordered from BBCE. I sent in the 5 best cards, 4 happened to be stars, one was a Jody Davis. It was the nicest card in the rack. I got 4-9's and one 8. I didn't even get the grading fees back and I got discounted grading fees. I sold some 84 Donruss the same way. One guy bout 8 cards for a total of $24. 2-8's and the rest 9's. I spent $36 having them graded. Live and learn. Had I hit a couple of 10's, the gamble would have paid off.

Well, it is what it is...an SGC 7 and 1600 is just normal, not cheap. Provided it crossed to PSA......it may cross to 6 or 6.5 I wasn't finding fault...just acknowledging i saw it somewhere before.
omg..... this is stupid. there will be 10-15 PSA10s by the end of the year, 30-40 by next year and so on. this will be a $50 card sooner than later. i estimate around 20 million of these are still under factory seal. $100 for a vending case at BBCX. i guess a good thing is that dealers are finally able to clear out some of their dead stock. now let's hope people start grading and building all the other late 80s crap sets. wonder what the pop report on a 1988D Jose Oquendo is?!?!

Maybe you haven't been reading this thread or anything else regarding this card, but we've all been talking about how this card comes out of the pack in bad shape.
oh i've followed all the threads on this for the past year. i know most do come out bad (edges, centering, printing loops). what i'm saying is there is just sooooooo much out there to be discovered, cheap, and it will be. just needed to get past the first couple 10s and more and more and more will surface.

Thats funny, thats what everyone said when the first one was graded. The first 10 was not graded until last year. For about 3 or 4 months everyone and their dog was opening 1986 packs trying to pull number 2. After the dust settled there was a grand total of 4.
