NM/MT??
<< <i>Pictures don't always tell the whole story. >>
Pictures also do not lie. He's talking about centering, which you seem to completely disregard in your grading.

Jim:
What are you talking about. I can't think of any buyer that would by this NM-MT to MT card and be upset with it being a little off center. Especially considering the seller was using the Beckett Grading Standard . . .
Now, the whole story. I looked at your feedback with regard to the other 1971 Topps that you sold. You sold ONE ungraded one. That was the Reese and it looked far better than this lot. The rest were ALL PSA graded PSA 8 and PSA 7. Seems you're offing the ones that didn't make it as PSA 7 NQ and passing them off as NM-MT to MT. You may not have had an issue in the past and you may get lucky on these, but don't think you can post this sort of overgraded materail on this board and not get called to task.
If you don't like it, too bad. It's the nature of the beast and most on these boards are well schooled enough to see through your tactics.
I didn't realize you two(lsutigers1973) and (otwcards) know me or anything about me, but apparently because you have 500-1000 posts you think you can treat your new members with such disrespect and accuse us(me) of having "tactics". For those reading this: case in point, take a look at the thread today of someone having trouble with their card saver1's. This guy, probably young kid was wondering why he was having so much trouble with them and getting cards to fit in them. And the wonderful responses these two (lsutigers1973) and (otwcards) says to them is this, " use some butter or kyjelly" (from lsutigers1973) and this, " what are you trying to fit in there 3x5 index cards" (from otwcards). Way to go guys nice way to treat a new member. Class acts. I guess that's the way you operate!
OTW- thanks for researching my feedback and what I sell. i guess you missed all the 57s, 58s, 59s, 60s and so on that I have sold with no complaints. I guess I got lucky on all those cards too? If what you say is true then I must have an amazing eye to get all those 1971 psa 8s and 7s if I send them in. But, wait a minute could it be possible that I bought the cards from other dealers across the country and sold them or maybe I bought a bunch of 1971's raw. Point being you don't know, because you don't know me.
So leave the new members alone and mind your own business if you don't know them. We all started out somewhere being new on this site. You two are not a very good welcoming committee! Remember, if you don't like anybody's cards you don't have to bid on them, we all have that choice.
I apologize for those that have had to read and deal with this and i realize that not all of you are like these few people. Have a great day!
People here usually try to watch each other's backs. It's pretty normal to see somebody post a scam auction, or a card they're not sure of, and get immediate responses. It's also pretty common for people here to give cards or other things to people they've never met and expect nothing in return. There's a lot of nice folks on the boards here.
When somebody who doesn't post a lot comes here and lists a bunch of cards, they should expect some scrutiny.
I guess the bottom line is that you came here saying you have psa 8 quality cards for sale on ebay, and you don't. If your cards were psa 8 quality, they would be in psa 8 holders. (and they would have high bids by now)
<< <i>WOW! I bow to the GODS of the message boards. Is this what I have to look forward to when I get old, sitting around all day on message boards criticizing and berating members product and topic threads and amassing 500-1000 posts. I think there is more to life than this check it out!

Hey Sparky, you're the one that came here and SPAMMED your eBay auctions featuring OVERGRADED 1971 cards. When called on it, you grew some Internet muscles and started name calling. I took you up on your challenge with regard to "any" of the 1971's you sold. I don't care where you got them or what your story is, but the fact is that you sold only ONE raw one. About your '59s or other cards, I don't care! That wasn't my point.
With regard to the other thread and the 3x5 comment, you need to put things in context and understand sarcasm. Obviously a tough concept for you. Did you read a few posts below where I explained the simplest way to load a CS1? Or the other thread with the board newbie that just got back into collecting after 17 years that I offered help via PM? If you did, I suppose you didn't mention them because they won't fit your agenda to make yourself look like the victim. We're not all mean ogres...just in certain situations.
For the record, I'm pompous and a smart azz, but I'm also one that will call them as I see them. If someone isn't above board, I, and many, many others on this board, will sniff it out.
Claim whatever you want, but what you claimed you were offering and what you really are offering ARE NOT THE SAME! It may work in the eBay world where most people can't tell the difference between a MT card and a VG-EX card, but it won't work here! I will at least commend you for putting up nice sized and clear scans.
As far as being new, yeah, we were all new at one time. Some of us took our lumps. But when someone comes on here and gets an attitude when they are questioned on their grading or something else that they post (and should be held accountable for), then some of us will pile on and dig in. If you don't like that, too bad.

That's my goal.

I gotta ask what the heck is going on here? A lot of those look like pretty decent cards to me, and the seller provides very nice scans for anyone to see for themselves what condition the cards are in. And certainly the starting bids are reasonable and nobody's being forced to bid more than they are willing to, as far as I can tell. It seems like some of us are getting a little too eager lately to sabotage B/S/T posts like this one. I understand and appreciate that we want to watch each other's backs around here, but I don't think this really fits into that category. To me this is just nitpicky crap that doesn't do anyone any good at all and could dissuade some reasonable collectors from bothering to post here.
