coil stamps and watermarks.

I must be getting alzheimer's. I was taught that coils were cut from sheet stamp stock, fed the same way as, and having watermarks the same as , i.e. horizontal , the aforementioned sheet stock. Armstrong swears this. Johl concurs, Sloan reports..... How is it I see coils with certs with vertical wmks? What am I getting wrong. Geez, can I get a break, I'm trying to woik heres people!!!!

Brian - the watermark is upright on the stamp always (which I would call vertical). Doesn't matter coil, whatever. I don't know what you are trying to describe.
