Another try at a photo with the new camera

1960 SA proof. I think I am getting better with the lighting but I'm not all the way correct yet.

What do you say?

  • What's your lighting source? Tungsten? If so, try "natural full spectrum" to get more real coloring.

What type of camera are you using? Try moving your light source. Are you using one light or two? With or without flash? These things do matter. Even though I am not the best photographer, I may be able to direct you to a better way of taking your photos. -Dan

    Good job!

.....and what a big surprise, the reverse has a ship on it! image
  • Thanks for the comments all.

I am using a new Cannon S5 IS. The lighting was 2 halogen lamps set pretty close to the coin. I had the white balance set on tunston.

I am pretty sure with adjustment of the lighting, type and distance, I will improve.

    Thanks again for the comments.

Set your lights closer to your lense at 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock.

    Ditto.

About the background are you using a white background and then photoshopping a color in because the edges looks odd.
  • It was a white background and I use a little program that will crop in circles. You can chose what background color you want.

I just did a bad job on the cropping is all.

  • Set the shutter speed to manual and go just a little faster and a little slow maybe.

    Nice focus detail.
