NNC?

I see a lot listings on eBay certified by these guys: NNC How reliable are their grades? How do their grades stack up against PCGS or NGC? Thanks!

I agree, not to be trusted, IMO. I popped one out and it had a severe rim scrape that was being hidden.

Oh, and I don't agree with the grades, either.

that is a seller on eBay named 'Centsles'. He is a self-slabbing, taking mostly problem coins (cleaned, damaged, etc.) and putting them into his own NNC slabs with grossely exaggerated grades. The owner ( I know his name, but won't repeat it here) knows how to grade, having won the PCGS World Series of Grading one year. However, he doesn't use his grading skills unless he is buying for his own collection.

Here is the schtick: buy crap, slab crap without mentioning damage and drastically overgrading. Sell on eBay representing it as trustworthy to the massess (victims). Take
ill-gotten gains from said sales, and buy quality NGC and PCGS coins for own collection using terrific eyes for grading.

    that about sums it up.

Oh, and by the way. He started the website to look legit as he has lawsuits pending against eBay when it decided that only PCGS, NGC, NCS, ANACS, and ICG could be listed as graded in the title. He has no intention of letting his farce come crashing down around him, as he is making a killing on it.

  • Wow! Invaluable info. Thanks a lot. I know precisely which seller you are talking about here. What a scam!

this same person used to deal heavily in ACG coins until he had a falling out with the owner of that establishment and then he created his own slabs and took it from there...
