FOR SALE~ Victoria PROOF Sovereign PCGS PR64DC Young Head 1839

I am offering this 1839 PCGS PR64 Deep Cameo Victoria Gold Sovereign.

I am open to any reasonable bids/offers through Ebay or this forum.

This coin is ex. Terner and was purchased for its amazing quality. I believe it is the single finest of the date.
A similar Victoria Gold Sovereign of 1839 sold in the Millenia Auction for $20,000!!!
This coin, IMO, has some of the best cameo contrast!! No spots and very few hair lines which is uncommon for the date.

1839 Proof Victoria Sovereign PCGS

Feel free to PM.

BTW, the final price on that Millennia (ex-Terner) '39 PF Sov. you referenced in your eBay sale was $20,125

Oh yeah, the infamous "Bidder #249" grabbed that one too, in addition to the Una, and the 1842 Sov., and a host of other nice coins.

P.S. I hope that collector knows the '42 sov. is not really an MS66 coin......it's very, very, very NICE, but it's not a "66". image

That is one sexy coin, but a bad time for any purchase for me.

Anyone see the Millenia piece in hand?? I was not able to see it in person but would have liked to, so I could confirm the quality compared to mine. In the photo it looked worse, IMHO, than my coin but it could be the pics or that I own this coin and not the other.image

This always starts a firestorm, but I was not GREATLY thrilled by some of the Milennia pieces. I did inspect that particular bit, but as I was not in the market I did not notate much. Also, I did not have the benefit of seeing your/the Terner piece. From recall, it was fairly graded but think they got perhaps a half point push (following the model that within each grade there is a -,0,+). I also think that ultimately Brit collectors in this country may give a bit of shrift to a point grade but that overall appearance would be most important to home market collectors and that it would not make a great deal of difference over there.

Very interesting, it sounds like my coin is about equal to the quality of the Millenia piece.
I am seeing lots of international interest on this coin. I wonder if that was the case in the Millenia sale?

the Millennia Collection had HUGE international interest, and many lots were sold to overseas buyers.

Hany, your proof sov. came from the Terner I sale. Generally, the better pieces were in the first sale, although they did hold back some very nice coins for sale #2. All were PCGS-graded.

Oh yeah, good luck with the successful sale of this piece.

    Bid to $9,100 so far....
    Market value or not????

In my opinion it is still somewhat low. What do you all think?

Not my cup of tea so to speak but if I had the funds I would think that at this price it is still a bargain at twice the price!

    Best of luck...
