I'm not an expert on this series, so I will withhold an opinion there. But it never fails to amaze why, even if this *is* genuine, WHY would someone sell it raw on eBay?
I do not see how one could tell based on those lousy pictures.
In order to tell if an indian is genuine, I insist on getting a magnifying glass out and looking at the deepest part of the incuse neck to look for softness and tooling. So far the bad indians i've seen have gotten the neck wrong in some way.
But even if it passes that test, how can I be certain as I am not a professional coin grader?
This is a coin i'd insist on buying in an authenticated, slabbed format.
It looks authentic to me from what I see, but the vinyl surrounding it scares me. How long has it been in vinyl ? (PVC). It's pricey, but the seller has a return policy !
The shoulder feather detail has odd wear, by the way (my opinion).
Danger! Danger! No only do crappy pictures abate ascertaining authenticity, but the sticker on the flip, which seems packaged for a TPG submission, has what looks like an NGC serial number on it "1146161-013." I haven't submitted to NGC before, but is that one of their toe-tags? Proceed with caution.
This is not the type of coin you should be buying raw on eBay.
Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.

The second star to the right of the "Y" in LIBERTY is recut and does not look genuine. I rotated and blew the coin image up on Photoshop and IMHO, it is counterfeit. Too many weird diagnostics on blown up image. I would be very careful with this one!

Why would you sell something like this on e-bay raw.
A fool and their money are soon departed, as most likely is the case here.
