Why the high ending price on this South Africa proof set?

This 1964 South African proof set ended up at over $150.00 on Ebay. Is there something that I'm missing here (variety coin, etc.)?...link.

that's a good question - '64 was not the key to these sets, '62 is the key. guess that the 2 bidders both decided that they REALLY wanted the set...

last time I checked, the starting bid on the set was higher than the set is worth... does anyone have a current Krauss price for the proof set?

my question is where are the people like this when I put stuff out on the 'bay?!?!?!?!?

The 36th ed. has it at $10 also. SA proof sets are highly undervalued in Krause. I was at a coin show in April and someone was paying 2-3X+ Krause for original sets.

but 2-3x krause still don't add up to $152!!!

Jeez - had I known that these things could garner that kind of cash, I wouldn't have broken up the sets that I broke up!
