Is this the head honcho job they've been advertising to fill?
If so, big congrats to Steve Crippe. I'm only surprised it appears they will allow Steve to continue his gradedstamps.com business.
This has to be good for philatelics
LOL, does Steve know how brutal the heat is in Dallas?
KJ- Yes, Dallas is a tad warmer than Tampa, but less humidity and I spend almost all of my time in the A/C office getting the new department off the ground.
StampAlarm- I wish, but there is much to be done and I have only been here a couple of weeks. The Rare Stamp division at Heritage is essentially a business start-up. I am honored to have this opportunity but to complete all the back-office work to launch a first-rate auction is no small task, even in a company as well organized and resourced as Heritage.
Our first Public Auction [Signature Quality Sale] is now scheduled for late January 2009. It is quite likely that we will bring up Internet Auctions [on HA.Com] for items valued under $500, during the fourth quarter of 2008.
We are already at work on business model development, internal systems, staffing, operations and securing consignments to support all of our Rare Stamp division activities, so I've got a very busy week ahead, but I will check back with you all soon.
