Return to sender

Unfortunately, my first sale after the new ebay feedback system went into effect is to a rather new ebayer who just doesn't seem to be all there. I'm allowing him to return some cards and from his poorly communicated, almost cryptic emails, I think he simply resealed the package, wrote "return to sender" on it and dropped it back in the mail. This action apparently occurred about 10 days ago. The supposedly returned package has not shown up at my house.

Does anyone know if the post office returns stuff just because the recipient writes "return to sender" on it? I thought they would have to write "refused" or re-address the package to me and put new postage on it. Thanks for any insights you may have.

"Return to Sender" works.....but not if it was opened. It should be sent back or forwarded postage due.

Unless the refund is small, I would wait until I got the cards back before refunding.

The buyer will lose a PayPal claim w/o DC.

I would block the buyer, too.

  • If it was opened Return to Sender does not work. It will end up either being returned to the person who returned it, returned to you postage due or held in some postal facility somewhere.

Resealed with no new postage on it will usually not be shipped back to you. It gets returned to the guy you shipped it to.

Don't give up any refund at all unless you get the package back.
