Mickey Mantle Store Bat

All:

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what something like this might be worth.

I have a Louisville Slugger #125 Mickey Mantle Bat. On the handle end of the bat it is stamped "MM6". From looking on EBAY, I see there are actually quite a few different stampings on the end of the bat, and have no idea if this has any significance.

I looked on EBAY, and saw prices ranging anywhere from $45 for a cracked bat to $100 for one in near mint condition which my bat is in.

If anyone might have any info or might possibly be interested in the bat, please let me know.

Thanks
Rob Ruth

I actually have a Mickey Mantle game used bat, my grandfather gave it to me when I was a kid, He used to play for the Baltimore and knew Mickey, So after a game Mickey game him one of his bats that he had used after cracking it on a hit. I will check the one I have and see what is on the knob of it.

The MM6 on the knob is a reference that this is a store model Mantle bat with the "6" indicating that the bat is 36" in length; values can vary but I'd say about $50-75 may be what you'd get for it on eBay.

Mike, your bat is a store model bat as well (34" in length) & unfortunately not a game used one either.

    Bill,

Is there a good resource for checking the specs for various player's GU bats?

If not, what are the general rules?

I have actually been told by many bat collector that they also believe it was game used by the Mick, and the fact that my grandpa got it from Micey himself after a game.

I belong to another board, Game Used Universe, where there is a TON of information on game used items. I was able to get a photomatch on my game used David Ortiz bat with help from one of the members. Among the posters on that board is one of the family members of Louisville Slugger who has access to all the players order information. He is a real asset to game used collectors and shares his knowledge with everyone. It's a great board to research game used items because there are so many members who are very knowledgable in all fields.
    Looking for Carl Willey items.
