ESPN is reporting that Tiger Woods will have season ending surgery. I view this as a report that golf has officially become irrelevant until April 6, 2009, e.g., Masters Golf Tournament. That is, unless, of course, Tiger Woods misses that too.

This is a huge blow to the golf tournaments and the TV networks that televise them. Now the big speculation is will he ever be the player
he was before the surgery.

He blew his ACL back in '07 and has won a few tournaments, including a couple of PGA Championships, since.

Not all surgerys turn out the same, we won't know until he starts playing again.

True but to speculate on how his performance may or may not be affected before going under the knife, with all things considered, is a tad premature.
Don't ya think?

Not really, after all he is the most important person in golf and a lot is riding on how it turns out.

Sweet rhyme.
