I saw a guy at my softball game tonight wearing a sweeet shirt-
It had Jack Niclaus on the front with the famous shining picture on the front with green letters saying "Weeer BAAAAAACK!" Pretty funny

PS Why did the Sonics trade Ray Allen!

Yeah, that's at eam to be proud of, one that went into the tank at the end of the 06-07 season to try and improve draft position...
And to member who posted this:
<< <i> Is that the best you can say about Kobe.

Huh? What does that have to do with anything? They bounce back and win a title- something the Knicks could never get done.

I could see the Knicks doing it given this scenario - they purposely go into the tank one season, then use the high draft pick gained to make a trade with an owner who doesn't care if his team tanks this year because he's moving them anyway and it will be easier if they stink. Then, an ex-Knick has to send them a top 25 all time player for what amounts to a pile of crap. These moves to bring in mercenary players (the same type of moves Boston fans have cried about for years when it come to the Yankees, but that's not really my point) could propel the Knicks to start winning, bring back apathetic fans to the bandwagon, and create legions of Knicks fans where there otherwise sre none, and maybe, hopefully, even win a title... Just like the Celtics.

If you followed the Celts during the painful 2006-07 season, you would know that was not true. Will Paul Pierce injured most of the year, they were overmatched except against the really lousy teams. When Pierce came back, they actually "screwed" themselves and started winning a few games, allowing Memphis to "beat" them for worst record. And with that, they got the worst pick possible in the lottery . . . #5. And the rest is history:
The #5 pick enabled them to get Ray Allen from the Sonics.
Getting Ray Allen enabled the Celtics to get KG to agree to be traded to them.
Ainge masterfully traded for KG without having to give up Rondo
A few other key acquisitions (i.e. Posey) >>>> result: 66 wins, NBA chamionship. BAM!!
Did anyone else absolutely love the "nah nah ...hey hey, goodbye" chant at the end. That gave me goosebumps. That was a powerful moment. Such passionate, die hard fans there.
I'm from LA, wanted the Lakers to win. But that was a great moment in sports. Congrats Celtics.
I lol'd at that one
