Kobe is as good as Jordan? Yeah right. And I quote the best thing I ever heard on this topic ... "this would have never happened on Jordan's watch."

kobe is a great player but that team sucks, no heart, no toughness, no consistancy you can see kobe just looking around and thinking what the hell are you guys doing????? bynum will be a help next year i think he's a little tougher for gasol and odom. hopefully both teams get back next year.

First of all, I'm a Laker fan and I was never really a big fan's of Kobe in the past, but I really like what he did this year. Jordan is a one of a kind, just like the other greats. I think Kobe will retire as one of the best of the greats, but it's unfair when people pick on him about losing the finals. The Lakers had to play awesome to get to the finals and to beat the Spurs and Kobe helped get them there and he very well deserved the MVP. Take Kobe off the Lakers during this past season, I don't think the Lakers even sniff the playoffs. From what I remember of Jordan's championship teams I don't recall his teamates played so poorly like Kobe's teamates just played. I remember timely plays from many Bulls during their championships. I don't see where any of the key Laker players did anything in the series to show they wanted to win. That being said, I don't want that to take away from what the Celts did this year. Best record in the NBA and Champs.

Jerry West made an interesting comment this week in regards to Bynum, Gasol and Odom playing together next year..He doesn't believe that Bynum and Gasol can co-exist well next year. I believe he was saying that they could not match up against smaller and faster teams. If the Lakers feel that way, then Odom could be on the trading block as they were saying on the radio earlier this week.

I give Kobe credit for changing his game to make his team better -- he really did earn that MVP. Unfortunately for him, the media and oddsmakers placed unrealistic expecations on them being able to beat the Celtics. They will be back in contention next year with a healthy Bynum, and if Kobe can continue to improve his defense and his team play.

They still have to get through a very tough Western Conference though -- I think the Celts have a much better chance of returning to the finals than the Lakers do.

Take Jordan off the Bulls and they didn't win. He won 3 chanpionships, retired (his team can't win without him) - He comes back and they win 3 more championships. Jordan was the most complete player ever, he could stop the best player the other team had and he could take the ball or find the best alternative to make the shot - that's what made him the best. Jordan never thought he could lose and he didn't when he got to the finals.

Comparing Kobe (or anyone for that matter) to Jordan is absurd! He was truely on a kind, he played to win every game. He wanted the shot at the end, took them and made them from the NCAA finals to the NBA Championship game.

Jordan Finals stats - 6 appearances, 6 wins, 6 Finals MVP - period! When someone else HAS done that - let's discuss
