figures they would clean house right before allstar week heading into second half my question is will they make playoffs? it would have to be a hell of a winning streak and quick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Getting rid of Randolph, arguably one of the worst managers in MLB history, has to help and can't possibly hurt.

    Changing managers usually doesn't have too much of an impact on the record, but the Mets clearly had no choice but to let him go, and Peterson, too.

    True story - The Phillies once fired their manager, Pat Corrales, and they were in 1st place at the time.

    Being a MLB manager in all fairness to Randolph, is a tough job - the old saying, "they're hired to be fired" is almost always inevitably true.
