You won't be laughing after the Phillies beat the Red Sox 4 games to 2 in the World Series. That is if the Red Sox get into the Series - I'm beginning to have some doubts.
  • Ryan is also the proud owner of zero rings. Perhaps he can get a part time job shining Big Papi's two world series rings.image

Correct me if I am wrong but when was the last time the Sillies were even in the Post Season?

Not counting last yr where they BACKED in on the final day. Is it 15 years?

And what happened last yr? Wasn't it NLDS and out?

Lot of talk here for a perennial loser.

If I was a fan of the Sillies I'd wait before I started talking about being in the WS.

    Good for you.

Ahhh now I know why they are so GIDDY it has been 1 trip in 15 years.

OK OK I can understand why they would now be all talk.

Especially that commie that usually could be found hiding somewhere around this time.

    Steve
    Good for you.

His awesome .224 Batting average will strike fear to Papelbon when closing out a 4 game sweep of the Sillies in the WS. NOT!!

Please explain these doubts? We havnt missed a beat since Big Papi and Dice went down- not to mention Schill. I understand you guys get excited in June but its a long season your Sillies have plenty of time to dissapoint.

Oh and Howard will be lucky to hit .200 this year with just 205 K's

My doubts are more about the way other AL teams are playing well such as the Angels, than about the Red Sox not playing well, because obviously the Red Sox are playing well. Just a feeling that the Red Sox could get beat in the playoffs. Maybe I'll change my mind on that by the end of the regular season.

Believe me, I'd rather see a Phillies - Red Sox WS than any other, so I'm hoping the Red Sox hang in there. It will be more fun to dethrone the current champoins.

Well Im glad that your at least "Kinda" in our corner then image

Not to bring up bad habits but maybe an innocent sig line bet might need to be in order Steven. If the Sillies play the Sox in the World Series then you know the deal!

I'll personally be shocked if he takes that bet. Beckett, Dice-K, and Schilling will all have to be on the DL in order for him to accept that bet.
The rest of the league take notice....The best two playoff game pitchers reside in Boston. image

Oh yes, I can GUARANTEE you we will have a sigline bet if that fortunate event occurs - LOL

And I'll have to think up a good derogatory name for the Red Sox for some good smack then (LOL) - maybe the "dead" sox? "smelly" sox? LOL

Sounds good Steve! While you search for a smack talk nickname for my Sox I will go with the well known "Sillies" option.

    Should be fun!

You're a good poster, but you're still relatively new here - Eagles fans including myself, and Cowboys fans have for years had some nasty little sigline bets. I don't gamble for money, but frankly these sigline bets for me are worse than losing money - the brutal humiliation involved...there can't be a price put on that.

Funny remembrance - once after losing a sigline bet and I think the deal was for a few months...one new poster honestly thought Kuhlmann (a Cowboys fan who lost a sigline bet and had to display an Eagles picture in his sigline) was an Eagles fan because of the big picture of Donovan McNabb in his sigline for so long. LOL

There really isnt many things better than seeing a hardcore Yankee fan here donning a Red Sox avator for a few months either- I had the utmost pleasure of a resident Sox Hater eating his words and forced to use the Sox logo after last years nasty Red Sox campain and winning the AL East image

Phillies have some good rivalries, but in MLB baseball, and it's not even close, for sure the most intense rivalry is the Yankees and the Red Sox.

Whatever happened to that Ruth guy, the pitcher, you traded anyway? I guess it was a good trade for you because he didn't have that many wins in his pitching career. LOL
  • Howard has a lot of power, but strikes out way too much. The Phillies are a decent team, but have have a weaker rotation than Sox.

Cole Hamels is an absolute ace. Moyer is piecing it together the way he always does. Myers is awful this year, especially on the road (0-6, 7.54 ERA). Kendrick and Eaton look okay, but nothing scary good about their numbers. The offense may be outstanding, but this is not a rotation that is built to win a short playoff series.

Whoa, he has 97 in 72 games -- on pace to shatter the record he set last year.

He is probably hoping for some time on the DL so he won't break 200! image
