mailed my first psa club submittal cards last week...

hi all-

i joined the club a few months ago and finally sent in my first 6 cards to have them graded. being a newbie, i thought i would post what grades i think i will get on the cards, and then post what i end up getting on them.

the 6 cards i sent and what i think i will get on them are:

1964 stand-up clemente - 6.5 or 7
1957 topps basketball maurice stokes - 7.0
1962 topps mars attacks #18 - 7.5
1962 topps mars attacks #55 - 6.0 MK
1970 topps clemente - 8.0
1970 topps clemente (yes, another one) - 8.0

when i get the cards back from psa, i will post the grades.

    Good luck with those Clemente's. I'd love to find a nice raw Stand Up. In the 7 range, those sell for some nice bank.

    well, i got my cards back with mixed results. well, i have not actually received them, but the grades are online. you can go to my first post to see what i predicted vs. what i got:

    1964 stand-up clemente - 6.0
    1957 basketball maurice stokes - 7.0
    1962 mars attacks #18 - 8.0 OC
    1962 mars attacks #55 (checklist) - 6.0 MK
    1970 topps clemente - 6.0
    1970 topps clemente - 9.0!

    i can see the stand-up getting a 6.0 - the card is nice and all corners nice, but the bottom green corners had minor white on them.

    i will scan the mars attacks #18 - it did not look OC to me.

    i was right on with the stokes and checklist.

    now, the clementes. i swear when is sent them in they looked to be in the same shape to me. how one can get a 6.0 and the other a 9.0 are a mystery to me. i guess the value is greater this way than 2 8.0s, right?

    anyone interested in the 9.0???

    pretty good for a first timer! May want to resubmit the 6 if you cant find anything weird a second time around

    The 6 Clemente probaly has a slight paper wrinkle on it. That is the most common culprit for 1st subs like that.

    That 9 should make up for it though.

    Paper wrinkle = PSA 5, not 6.

    maybe the 6 has a scratch or some kind of blemish like that

    Not always I have a 6 that has a paper wrinkle on it I missed its a 69 Drysdale

    There is a slight wrinkle about 1/4 of the way down the right side
