71 Down--1955 Bowman Football Completed in PSA 8 or Better

Thanks to dealer extraordinaire and good friend Steve Novella, I have completed my 71st vintage or semi-vintage set with each card PSA 8 or better--1955 Bowman Football.

This one has been tough for me due to two cards--the rookie card of HOFer Jim Ringo which is not low pop but highly sought after and the low pop #151--Mike Jarmoluk--a pop 7 in PSA 8 and I believe his only card. When the magic man said he could get me the two cards at what I thought was market price it was a done deal and I completed my 71st set overall and by 22nd football set in PSA 8 or better.

The set ranks 5th in the PSA Set Registry withy a 8.07 set rating. It has 13 PSA 9 and 147 PSA 8s. I will let the set rest at this level.

The goal remains 100 vintage or semi-vintage sets in PSA 8 or better. I appreciate the help of all fellow collectors in achieving my goal.

Congratulations , again. I love that set. I've always wanted to start that set, but thought it would be tough to finish , at my budget.

PLEASE, PLEASE do not start collecting the sets I collect.

Congrats Jim, when I saw Steve list all those 55's from the Memory Lane auction (excluding the Ringo and Jarmoluk cards), I thought we might be seeing a post from you! 55 is a great set and deceptively tough.

I want to say big time congrats Jim.

You are what collecting is all about....what an achievement again. The ringo is one of the hardest FB cards to get in high grade for any year.
Love all the old bowman's myself. You must need a 2nd house to keep it all...lol

Thank you to one and all for the congrats. It's a beautiful set and the last two cards were quite difficult. Now if I could find the final 8s for my 48 Bowman, 52 Bowman Large and Small and 53 Bowman(1) I would be a very happy guy.

I'm surprised you don't have a post here like on Net54 bragging about the bumps you got on some of your cards.
