Here's another coin linked to that event - a Vespasian tetradrachm, presumably from Antioch or possibly Alexandria. It is however also possible that this coin was made in an army mint, and even from the Army engaged in the jewish revolt. Armies often had portable mints, so that they could make coins to pay wages, food, bribes, etc. As this coin is made year 69/70 AD, it could even be made from jewiah silver raided by the Roman army - even from the temple of Solomon itself perhaps........?
All amazing coins. Ancient Rome is a big interest of mine-you could even say I'm studying it. (the fact that I was already familiar with everything referenced made my day-that probably sounds bizarre though. I've only taken up the study of Rome this year, 2008!)
