Question about the holder??

PSA does not make the holder, I believe. But why are they made so that the card has any room to move at all??

  • Probably to help avoid damage while putting the card in the holder. With a little room to move, you'd avoid pinching the card in the holder. That, and not all cards measure exactly the same when cut.

    Lazy

Its just plain lazy, they should have a few dozen different sizes premade....... or change to a custom cut insert,...... and stop floating cards in holders that can and will damage some cards.

I like the fact that the card can be slide around a little in the PSA holder. You can see the edges that way. SGC holders, while I like their appearance, the gaskets are sometimes cut too small and they dig in to part of the edges of the cards. Beckett has the best holder in my opinion. Sturdy, hard to pry open and tamper with, displays well too. It's too bad their grading is sometimes off, like on all the sheet cut cards they slab up.

VERY TRUE AND EXCELLENT POINT....with a gentle tap, you can see the edges VERY well!

BGS does have a stronger slab but that is the only positive ....the plastic they used seems to distort the image and is not as clear or "optically correct " as the PSA plastic....hold 2 of the same cards together, 1 in psa and 1 in BGS, the PSA always looks brighter and more clear, especially as it ages....BGS dont age well, they seems to frost just a bit, and scratch easier, also the scratches show up more in a bgs slab....
