What part of the jersey is this Michael Jordan patch from?

I am not sure I would call this a patch, but what part of the jersey is this 3 color patch from? It looks like the material peeled or cracked off the jersey and left a strip of it from the edge. Maybe a wash tag or something? This card is from 99-00 when they still used actual game jerseys so you actually saw some signs of use haha.

Is from the glue from where the top left part of the R in Jordan was at?? Just a guess!!

Laundry tags were sewn on then, still are now. Bulls jerseys in that era had sewn on name, #s etc.
They were screened on in the late 80s.
The only thing that it could be is some glue residue from a letter, all the letters has serifs, meaning the shape could be attributed to the J,R, on N assuming it is right side up. Could also be from the B, U, or L on the front, there is no way of telling how long the original piece was.
    Pretty interesting piece.
  • Ok, How about this, jock tag? Unsure if they exist in basketball. Here's a pic of mine from a 2005 Futures baseball jsy-

Billy Ripken that is what I meant was like a jock tag. I know the wash tags are sewn, but sometimes they have other tags also. I don't think there is anyway it is glue because it is perfect black outline with an inner grey screening that has been cracked away. I can't figure it out. Maybe from some add on to the jersey or an alteration for some random thing?

I'd say the red peeled off like someone else posted.... or a practice jersey?
