World Coins vs. Collectors showcase

I recently had a conversation with BJ Searls from the Set Registry and asked her if she can list a new country in the World Coins section of the SetRegistry. You will notice that there are some fascinating coins in the CollectorsShowcase that can merit addition to the World Coins section too. My mission is to collect every commemorative coin Costa Rica has to offer from 1970 to date. There are proofs, mint states, gold and silver in that series. You can see most of these coins at Costa Rica Pride. BJ was kind enough to consider my request and will be working the details in the upcoming weeks. My short term goal is to complete all of the sets, yea right there is a bunch of expensive gold coins to collect. Not something I can do any day of the week. Okay let's refrain, my long term goal is to collect all of the sets including the gold. In the interim, the sets that are complete will be brought over to a new category. Something I would suggest some of the other Collector Showcase owners look into.

Mexico City Mint Milled 8 Reales Type Set:
Felipe V (Philip V) 1732-1746
Fernando VI (Ferdinand VI) 1746-1760
-note- The "crown" varieties is not a bad idea to incorporate, but I don't know if that's the level of granularity you want to go with
Carlos III (Charles III) 1759-1771 - Milled Pillar Type
Carlos III (Charles III) 1772-1773 - Milled Bust Type - Inverted Assayer / Mint Mark
Carlos III (Charles III) 1773-1789 - Normal Assayer / Mint Mark
Carlos IIII (Charles IIII) 1789-1790 - Bust of Carlos III
Carlos IIII (Charles IIII) 1790-1808 - Armoured Bust of Carlos IIII
Fernando VII (Ferdinand VII) 1808-1811 - Armoured Bust of Ferdinand VII
Fernando VII (Ferdinand VII) 1811-1821 - Draped Bust of Ferdinand VII
Empire of Agustin de Iturbide 1822-1823
Republic - Profile Eagle (Hook-Neck Eagle) - 1823-1824
Republic - Cap and Rays, Facing Eagle - 1824-1897
In terms of War of Independence "one from each major mint" set, I think going with Royalist Provisional Mints would be the best direction, since Insurgency created numerous local, crude issues in low quality silver that later were melted down by Republican Mints.
Royalist Provisional Mints of the Mexican War of Independence:
Chihuahua Mint 1810-1822
Durango Mint 1811-1821
Guadalajara Mint 1812-1822
Guanajuato Mint 1813, 1821-1822
Sombrerete Mint 1810-1812
Zacatecas Mint 1810-1822
Since it’s a relatively small set if you’re only looking at 8 Reales, I could dig-up additional denomination figures for each of those from 1R to 4R.
Now, when talking about Mexican numismatics, you can’t disregard the Cap and Rays 8 Reales series of the Republic. 14 different Mexican mints produced this series and I think a “one from each mint” set would get a great starter:
Republican Cap and Rays 8 Reales Set:
Alamos Mint - 1864-1895
Catorce Mint - 1863
Chihuahua Mint - 1831 - 1895
Culiacan Mint - 1846 - 1897
Durango Mint - 1824 - 1895
Estado De Mexico - 1828 - 1830
Guadalajara Mint - 1825 - 1895
Guadalupe Y Calvo Mint - 1844 - 1852
Guanajuato Mint - 1824 - 1897
Hermosillo Mint -- 1835 - 1895
Mexico City Mint - 1823 - 1897
Oaxaca Mint - 1858 - 1893
San Luis Potosi Mint - 1827 - 1893
Zacatecas Mint - 1825 - 1897
Once there’s increased interest in that area, you can look at different sub-types to each mint and create other sets for die varieties (most Mints used their own design of the Mexican emblem with varying dies used until around 1850's when standardized dies were created to be used in all of the mints).
I hope this gets you started. Please let me know if you want me to go more in-depth on any of the information I have provided.
