Terrific player, clean player, and a first ballot HOFer without a doubt.
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
It's great to see him reach this milestone but MLB and the press really yawned at this to me. They should really hype Griffey as he is probably the best player of the 90's that has never been mentioned by anyone of doping. His injuries and recovery times to me are proof he didn't even do HGH.
Currently completing the following registry sets: Cardinal HOF's, 1961 Pittsburgh Pirates Team, 1972 Pittsburgh Pirates Team, 1980 Pittsburgh Pirates Team, Bill Mazeroski Master & Basic Sets, Roberto Clemente Master & Basic Sets, Willie Stargell Master & Basic Sets and Terry Bradshaw Basic Set
I watched his play in Seattle very closely --- I could never really determine if he was a better offensive, or defensive player. He was that good. That dude totally 'sold out' on defense; crashed into walls right and left; you could tell he loved and respected the game. He saved a lot of games with his leather. Amazing.....
Without Junior, there would be no Safeco Field.
Oddly, I was lucky enough to be in Anaheim when he and Senior hit the back-to-back HRs. I went numb!
Way to go, Junior! Congrats! You are the real deal!

Always looking for original, better date VF20-VF35 Barber quarters and halves, and a quality beer.
I guess I never gave Griffey Jr a congrats here. He's always been one of my favorite guys and I think it just makes it more special cause he did it during the "Roids" era. He also had to come back from major injuries that caused him to miss many games during his prime.
That being said, I give this thread my "bump" . lol

I think my thread would have read "Welcome Griffey to the 700 HR club"

That's saying something!
Such an achievement couldn't happen to a better man.

<< <i>One of the greatest of all time. He's got 600 homers and still every one of us wonders what could have been. >>
One of the sweetest swings in the game..
