Something I wasen't aware of until recently. The team can be purchased independent of the stadium itself along with the naming rights or everything bought together in a package deal if desired.
Major ungrades to the concession areas and bathrooms are needed at Wrigley according to the article I read.
Don't know what they are asking for each seperate or together but I won't be a buyer.
The thought of Wrigley Field being under a different name does not set well with me but it is not my call.

I agree with ya - I don't like the renaming the stadiums crap that's been going on, but what are ya gonna do...it's a business, they can call it whatever they want for the buck.
I'll coordinate so everyone just paypal me when you get the chance. If you don't have my email, PM me. Thanks
But as far as some of the Cubs players are concerned, Cuban would be a perfect choice to buy the team .
Ryan Dempster talked to Cuban when he was in the on-deck circle during a game last month when Cuban was sitting in Tribune Co. seats near the dugout.
"He's pretty passionate," Dempster said. "It's funny. He kind of gets the reputation as this crazy, wild owner. But when you think about it, all he's ever really done is get kicked out of a couple of NBA games."
There may be some concern Cuban would treat umpires like he treats NBA referees, though Dempster believes that's overblown.
"He never has disrespected the actual game itself," he said. "It's not like he's running out on the court. He's just protecting his players. He's just a passionate guy who really cares about his players and his organization and tries his best to do whatever he can to win.
"It'll be interesting to see if they'll approve him. I'd hope they would."

I'm not trying to knitpick, but hasn't Cuban actually gone on the court a few times? Maybe I'm thinking of something else?
He has a huge ego and wants to be the center of attention so it is hard for me to imagine him just sitting quietly in an
owners box at a game.
Since baseball is such a structured and tradition oriented game this would be a jolt to the baseball establishment and
would not be well received I'm sure by Selig.
Oh, really? What was the Mitchell Report and Steroid Scandal? Chop Suey?
"The answer was in the Patriots eyes. Gone were the swagger and c0ck sure smirks, replaced by downcast eyes and heads in hands. For his poise and leadership Eli Manning was named the game's MVP. The 2007 Giants were never perfect nor meant to be. They were fighters, scrappers....now they could be called something else, World Champions."

I'm talking about decorum during the game, not the ugly behind the scenes stuff.
As a Cubs season ticket holder, I would LOVE to see Cuban get the whole ball of wax. He builds a fan-friendly and competitive product.
Contrast that to most owners - or the current Wrigley situation - concrete falling onto the seats, poor refreshments, second highest ticket prices in the majors, no rings in a century, nowhere near enough parking (nor reasonably priced), ghastly bathrooms, and generally warm beer.
