I posted this medal on the lighter side and was wondering if I can get some additional information.

white metal and
is 50MM and
weighs 41.2 grams

Do you know how many were made?
And the approximate value.

it is a British Victoria era medal. It has the same obverse as his Salisbury Cathedral Medal struck between 1841 and 1850. BHM#2380. I could not find that exact medal in British Historical Medals, but the ones I found were considered common. During that same period he did the Winchester Cathedral which has an interior view of the Cathedral. So I would place it in this time frame and worth about $30- up depending on the cathedral market, which is very popular.

I'm thinking it's BHM 1469. It's pictured in Taylor's "Architectural Medals" ((10a) with frosted devices and a prooflike look.
Charles Riley has a bronze example in the archive section of his website.

There is also a Conder token with Salisbury's cathedral (within the See of Sarum), it's Wiltshire 21 in D&H.

You are correct. BHM 1469. It was one of a series of medals by Halliday depicting Various buildings around the country BHM.

It was in a seperate book and I did not look back to 1830. It is listed a N in rarity which is a little rarer than Common.

White medal is always proof like. It is a silver wash. Yes the price I quoted is as accurate as I can get, not being a collector of Cathedrals. I have sold big copper rare ones for $300 to forum members, and bought them in that range within the last couple years. but I am by no means an expert in them.

That Black or dark area is the way it corrodes.

I didn't know that....that's good to know. I thought that this medal was rubbed raw and it may grade a VF at best
maybe it is a little better. Or it may net at a VF?

The corrosion will contine to grow like pimples on Pot medal. MS70 will take it off, if you soak it long enough. The medal will be poc marked where the corrosion has been. It will take the proof like wash off faster, so great care is need if trying to save the medal from furture destruction..
