Neuen Jahr tokens

Every so often I come upon a German token that commemorates the new year. Some of these are generic and just have a date, but once in a while I find an older one with a neat design that has a tavern and city name on it. Does anyone know if these are collectibles, or are they forever relegated to the bargain box?
