the o's have the fourth pick, this should be an interesting draft.
rays lead the AL east and get to add another quality player today.

collecting RAW Topps baseball cards 1952 Highs to 1972. looking for collector grade (somewhere between psa 4-7 condition). let me know what you have, I'll take it, I want to finish sets, I must have something you can use for trade.

    The catcher from FSU should go first. Quality catchers aren't easy to come by.

    Yep, I'm thinking Buster Posey the catcher from FSU. I've seen him in person about 5 times and he's the real deal. Great defense, very versatile (converted from SS to C), he's hitting .470 against top competition in the ACC, 2nd in the nation in HRs, and he's also a great guy (academic all-american). He hit 5 HRs over the course of 2 days when his team was one game from elimination during regionals this year.

    I could see them taking Beckham, the SS from HS, but I hope not.

    I'll be there though, since it's in Orlando. Me and a friend are leaving in about an hour.

    well they (rays) took the SS. the o's got what people are saying is the best pitcher in the draft, so i'm happy, a college kid so we shouldn't have to wait to long, ( i hope).

    Wow, I figured Posey was going to be gone by the time the Giants used Pick #5. Heh. YEAH!!!!!

    JUST got back from Orlando. Me and my friend stayed for the first 2 rounds and had a great time. My friends grandpa works in the Twins organization and is great friends with Tony Oliva and we actually had the opportunity to MEET him! I didn't have anything to get signed but it was a great experience. I was also able to get within about 10 feet of Dave Winfield, Vinny Castilla, Don Zimmer, Ralph Garr, Griffey Sr, Peter Gammons, Jack Mckeon and a few others.

    As for the draft, I don't mind the Rays choice of Beckham over Posey. I see Posey as someone who's nearly a "sure thing" but supposedly Beckham has the potential to be THE thing. If we truly chose another Upton.....image

    There isn't too much to say about the Braves draft other than the fact that we chased young arms with great potential. Hopefully one of them will pan out.
