Smoltz to have season-ending shoulder surgery

I'm not a Braves fan, but that's a bummer. I was hoping to see Smoltz add some more saves to his career. I hope the surgery adds some more years to his career.

Can you imagine those 3 going into Cooperstown together? What a day that would be...
However, the reports I have read state Smoltz does not want to retire. Also, Maddux isn't showing signs of slowing down. I believe if Maddux continues to pitch as he is and can find himself on a team that will give him solid run support he has a shot at 400 wins. Think about it, after this season that's only 3 pretty good seasons (or two awesome seasons). Could happen.
glavine should have already hung it up.
I do hope Smoltz comes back as he had the potential to have a good season.
