The most recent PCGS population report (as of 6/2/08) of the 2007-w platinum pf coins is as follows:

* 52 1/10 oz. plat. eagle graded PF70
* 66 1/4 oz. plat. eagle graded PF70
* 108 1/2 oz. plat. eagle graded PF70
* 72 oz. plat. eagle graded PF70


Take the following facts into consideration:
    These coins are no longer being offered for sale by the U.S. Mint.
    Using the above mentioned PCGS population report #'s, only 52 complete sets are available in PF70. That's over 3 times less the # of sets that can be made with the 2007-w platinum unc. sets verses the 2006-w platinum unc. sets!
    The 2006-w 4 coin platinum sets graded PCGS MS70 were selling at over 5x their issue price.
    This is the 2nd lowest # of platinum proof sets ever minted. Only the 2004-w platinum proof sets have less # of coins minted.
This set of 2007-w plat. pf coins is rarer and can be purchased for less than the 2006-w unc.coin set!

Furthermore, if you compare the # of coins graded PF70 by PCGS for 2004-w against the 2007-w this is what you'll find.

Based on these #'s, only 25 sets of the 2004-w can be found in PCGS PF70. PCGS has valued this set at $30,150 (base on the values listed in the online PCGS pricing guide as of 6/3/2008).

Using the same chart, only 52 sets of the 2007-w can be found in PCGS PF70. PCGS has valued this set at $6,300(base on the values listed in the online PCGS pricing guide as of 6/3/2008).

Here's an opportunity get a set of 2007-w PCGS graded PF70 platinum coins which is almost as rare as the rarest of all the platinum pf sets, the 2004-w, and for much, much less !
