1694 elephant token

i found this elephant token and was wondering if anyone might have a clue
if its real. found it metal detecting. some people say its real others say its a rosa copy im not sure and dont have a clue to where to send it off for authen.

Can you provide us with a close-up of the surface? My gut feeling is that this is a cast copy of some sort but I am far out of my field here.

I'm not an expert on these, but the detail does look a bit weak. My initial thought is that it's a cast.

Where did you dig it up? How deep was it buried? What kind of soil was it in? How long has it been out of the ground? Did you clean it? How did you clean it? It looks like there could be some corrosion on the surface, but the coin appears a little more red-brown than one would expect with a dug coin.

i dug it at my moms property there was an old canning shed that was removed from the property and it was filled with glass and bunches of broken wood i think it probally was in a jar at one time i found it with a steel penny and an 1902 indian head penny the soil there was pretty soft with leaves and trash. im thinking it might of came from the lady that lived there before my parents she was almost 100 when she passed,the place they lived had a history of old indian camps back in the days

my vote is cast copy.....i own a copy just like it......the original has defined denticles that is absent on the copy

also, your photo is a bit weak in this area, but does the word England have a colon ( after it or a period (.)


the original will have a period and the copy will have a colon
