Magic Johnson 1980 7-Up Cup

Picked this up today at a garage sale for a mere dime. Reminded me of all those sports related cups I had growing up. Does anyone collect sports cups? I think I will make a point of looking for them a little more in the future.

Also got a Pat Haden from the same series. Who the heck is Pat Haden? I'm assuming they are from 1980 because both cups have details about the 78 and 79 seasons.

Oh my god, I used to love collecting sports cups. In the 80s I used to pick them up off the ground at Orioles games and take them home to wash them. I was a disgusting kid. I'm a disgusting adult too so it all works out.

I also remember drinking my weight in Dr. Pepper to get all of the 64 oz. Dream Team cups in 1992.

I continue to drink my weight in Dr. Pepper, is that bad?

No, Dr. Pepper is good for you. I think it has 23 essential vitamins and minerals. Plus, it's made by a doctor.

Nice Buy For a Dime. I use to think those cups and restaurant memorabilia were the things to look for at garage sales.

Pat Haden was a Ram's QB. Pretty decent. I believe he also went to law school and was (is?) a broadcaster.

Last year I sold about 200 baseball Slurpee Cups from 1977-82 and got what I thought was good money for the IMO garbage, over $3 ea.

Next up when I get around to it is a set of the RC Cans from ca.1976.

Never knew people wanted this stuff, but then again when I was younger I had them displayed in my room.
