Is Deep Cameo the Same as Ultra Cameo?

Is a Dcam coin the same thing as a Ucam coin? Could a coin be Ucam but not Dcam and vice versa. Seems like a stupid question but I am not sure. They seem to be the same to me but...

<< <i>Sort of. The designations mean the same thing, but there is a difference in degree of difficulty between the two services. However, that difference has narrowed signifcantly as of late.

Would we be interpreting your comment correctly if we were to conclude that NGC has tightened their standard of late? It seems to me that PCGS has been consistently tough.
My past experience is the same as WingsRule.....

Yep, UCAM has tightened a bit and Cameo has tightened to the point of stupidity. Not that I'm complaining, since two of my PCGS MS66CAM Birthmark Dies were cracked out of NGC NON cameo holders.

and NGC, there are just made 7"+ mirror fields, and there
are the 10 to 15 inch monsters. Most monsters are locked up
long term in collections, but a few come up for sale from time
to time. Remember, stay away from any cameo that has cloudy
fields, unusually numerous and disturbing scrapes, breaks in luster
on devices or outright nicks. You will have to choose, generally, between
deep clear fields or devices with minimal marks. It is usually very difficult
to achieve everything one wants on the current lot of DMPLs. You should have
seen the quality that was available in the 70s and 80s. WOW!

Interesting question since you will need to learn the answer for yourself rather then taking a TGS or someone's word for it. No matter how you cut it, you'll always end up as the final judge from the number of comparisons you make.
