So what do you think is the biggest sleeper series?

The post about the Barbers being considered sleepers in the past got me thinking.

What do you think is the biggest sleepers are that the series started before 1933?

There can be no sleeper series before 1933. There are some more appreciated than
they might be or less appreciated but these are all a pretty well known quantity.

    THE biggest?

Don't know but quarter eagles in condition census sure seem to be a good buy. Three's are too. image Civil War dated coins in general especially considering that the kick off to the muti year year sesquicentennial is only 3 years away. Maybe sleeper isn't the right word for those. Hmm

None. This far into a coin market boom there are no sleepers. There are plenty of overpriced series, though.

There are no sleeper series---just series that are unpopular for various reasons.

I don't know, but I suspect that high-grade modern clad coinage is going to prove really tough in the future. If I were a young collector with a lot of time, I'd be poring through Mint sets looking for the best examples I could find.

rare 8TF vams. When you consider the top pop 1969-S Lincoln DDO went for 126.5K (known population all grades is about 25) and
compare that to say Van Allen's VAM-14.7 that sold for 13,000+ (known population all grades - seven).

I'd say either the 1969-S DDO is way underpriced or rarer 8TF VAMs have serious room to grow when the demand hits.

I read somewhere that during WW2, the Japs destroyed hundreds of these by breaking them up into small pieces to be used as paving material.

It has got to be Rosies. I think they sell for about face value now, any movement at all and it would be dramatic.

Pre-1933, huh? How about large sized capped bust quarters? They're plenty expensive in better grades, but they are crazily cheap up to Fine, given how few and far between decent ones, even in these grades, really are. I don't think it would take much influx of interest to send the prices up.
